UFC veteran and his son poke fun at Daniel Cormier's weight gain after retirement: "Look at all those muscles on Daniel"

While Daniel Cormier was once one of the most dominant UFC champions, since his retirement, the Hall of Famer has often been teased by his colleagues for being too out of shape.

The former two-division champion is far from fight shape, and it seems the son of a fellow UFC veteran took notice. During a recent segment on the Good Guy/ Bad Guy podcast, co-host Chael Sonnen told Cormier about a hilarious incident when his son Thero unintentionally made fun of 'DC's' weight gain.

Thero owns an action figure of Cormier and had some interesting insights about it. Sonnen said:

"You remember? The opening of the show on Monday was my son, you let my son come on and he showed you this doll. So he brought it [the action figure] back to me and he goes, 'Look at this, look at all these muscles on Daniel. Look at his abs and his biceps Dad.' I'm looking at it, and [I go] yeah, yeah. And he goes, 'Wasn't that nice of Dana White to put those muscles on him."

Caught off guard by the quip, Cormier burst out laughing before firing back with a light-hearted retort:

"God, what is wrong with Thero man, what is wrong with him? What is going on with your son? Your son has no problem hurting someone's feelings. And guess what Chael? I'm here for it."

Fortunately, Cormier has developed thick skin regarding fat jokes, thanks to his AKA teammates Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev, who never miss an opportunity to call him out for being out of shape.

When Khabib Nurmagomedov jokingly called Daniel Cormier "fat"

Khabib Nurmagomedov and Daniel Cormier maintain a wholesome friendship and engage in hilarious banter often.

When 'The Eagle' received the Submission of the Year award for his second-round triangle choke submission over Justin Gaethje in 2020, Cormier tried to take credit for teaching him the choke:

Nurmagomeov, however, quickly denied 'DC's' claims and clapped back at the 45-year-old, poking fun at his physique:

"You didn't teach [me] this brother... We talk about this submission, triangle choke. Your legs [are] too fat for triangle choke."
