Umar Nurmagomedov confused about Sean O'Malley's "big mystical win" over Aljamain Sterling: "I don't know how he lost"
Umar Nurmagomedov doubled down on his skepticism regarding Sean O'Malley's win over Aljamain Sterling at UFC 292. The Dagestani initially confessed that he felt like Sterling 'threw the fight.'
Sterling reigned supreme over the bantamweight division with three title defenses over formidable names like T.J. Dillashaw and Henry Cejudo. However, O'Malley and his team devised the perfect game plan to trap Sterling.
'Suga' capitalized on a labored attempt by Sterling to close the distance and countered with a sharp right hand that stifled his opponent. With this victory, O'Malley laid hands on the bantamweight gold and snapped Sterling's nine-fight win streak.

Cory Sandhagen will take on undefeated Dagestani challenger Umar Nurmagomedov in the main event of UFC Abu Dhabi.
'Young Eagle' has carried significant hype since signing with the UFC, a part of which can be attributed to his relationship with Khabib Nurmagomedov. The former UFC lightweight champion will be in his cousin's corner when he takes on an experienced challenger in Sandhagen.
The American wields the strength of a three-fight win streak against formidable names. Speaking about the upcoming clash during a recent sitdown interview with Daniel Cormier, Sandhagen said:
“I’m gonna prove that I’m better than [Umar]. On Saturday, I plan on shaking Khabib’s hand, I plan on shaking Umar’s hand and apologizing and saying ‘I’m sorry that I had to beat you. Go win a couple more fights, and we can fight [again] for the belt, that’s how I see it in my head. That’s how I’ve been seeing it in my head for the last 12 weeks.”
