Uriah Hall recounts how "the power of editing" was used for incredible spin-kick knockout over Adam Cella: "It was bad"
Uriah Hall recently recounted his famous knockout win over Adam Cella on 'The Ultimate Fighter' (TUF) and revealed the editing tactics that were used. The knockout is still regarded by many as one of the greatest in the show's history and resulted in a surge in the Jamaican's popularity.
'Primetime' burst onto the scene while competing on TUF season 17 and was Chael Sonnen's second selection. He had an incredible run on the show and was eventually the runner-up; however, the season is most known for his knockout win over Cella. The Jamaican dropped him with a spin-kick that resulted in shock and awe from the coaches and competitors and UFC CEO Dana White.
While speaking with Chuck Liddell on his YouTube channel, the former TUF competitor recounted his vicious spin kick knockout over Cella and his reaction to what transpired. Hall mentioned that the footage was edited to make it appear as though his opponent had been regaining consciousness soon after, but noted that it was a longer duration in reality. He said:
"The power of editing because after this [knockout]...That [reaction of Cella moving and reacting] was after five or six minutes...It was bad. If you watch that video, [the camera] went to [my] face like this. That's after five or six minutes." [5:40 - 5:59]
