Veteran UFC welterweight seemingly doxes Chael Sonnen after latter calls him "retired from the sport": "WOW NEVER EXPECTED THAT FROM YOU!!"
Chael Sonnen has remained a prominent figure in mixed martial arts despite retiring from competition more than five and a half years ago. The former three-time title challenger has not shied away from voicing his opinion on all matters related to the sport.
'The American Gangster' labeled Gilbert Burns as retired during the latest episode of Good Guy / Bad Guy. Speaking to co-host Daniel Cormier, Sonnen claimed:
"And Gilbert Burns, by the way, I know he's in the rankings - he is no longer in the pool. He is officially retired from the sport."
Burns responded to Sonnen's comments by tagging him on X and seemingly posting his phone number:
"THE LEVEL OF DISRESPECT @ChaelSonnen WOW NEVER EXPECTED THAT FROM YOU!! STILL WITH THIS NUMBER? +1 (503) 754-0207 CALLING YOU TO SEE WHATS UP!"

It is unclear if the number listed belongs to Sonnen, however, it is a number from the Portland, Oregon, area that has now been turned off. Burns also responded to a fan by claiming that the number belongs to the mixed martial arts analyst. 'The American Gangster' has yet to respond to the tweet from 'Durinho'.
Chael Sonnen reveals he was ready to stop Colby Covington's clash with Joaquin Buckley
Chael Sonnen was in Colby Covington's corner for his UFC on ESPN 63 clash with Joaquin Buckley. The bout was stopped by the doctor near the end of the third round due to a cut on 'Chaos' eyelid. While there had been backlash surrounding the stoppage, 'The American Gangster' recently revealed that he had grabbed the towel and was ready to stop the fight.
Speaking on his podcast, Beyond the Fight, Sonnen stated:
"Colby was getting hit on his feet with everything you could do. I mean, he's busted open so bad the doctor has to look at it three times. Twice, he stops the action to let it keep going. The third time he says, 'man, we can't go anymore'. I was going to stop that fight.
"I already grabbed the towel. When the doctor came in for the third time and I'm watching that blood, it's not stopping and it is going into the eye and that's the only thing you're really looking for."

Sonnen added that the amount of blood is not as important as whether or not it is getting into the fighter's eyes. He noted that even a small amount can affect a fighter's vision while revealing that he was prepared to throw the towel in to protect Covington.
