Walter Goncalves says Aliff’s tendency to throw "random" stuff makes him a tricky test: "Makes his style quite dangerous"

Walter Goncalves explained why his upcoming opponent, Aliff Sor Dechapan, has a "quite dangerous" fighting style. On Nov. 8, ONE Championship will host a stacked numbered event, ONE 169, featuring multiple world title matchups.

Earlier in the night, various fighters will look to capitalize on the massive platform by showcasing their skills.

A couple of these fighters will be featured in a strawweight Muay Thai contest as Goncalves and Aliff square off. During an interview with ONE, Goncalves had this to say about the unpredictability of his upcoming opponent:

“Aliff throws a lot of random punches, which makes his style quite dangerous. He likes to throw flying knees and often surprises his opponents. I think these are the qualities that make him a dangerous guy.”

ONE 169 features multiple world title matchups - Anatoly Malykhin vs. 'Reug Reug' Oumar Kane (heavyweight MMA), Rodtang vs. Jacob Smith (flyweight Muay Thai), Christian Lee vs. Alibeg Rasulov (lightweight MMA), and Jackie Buntan vs. Anissa Meksen (inaugural women's strawweight kickboxing).

The Nov. 8 spectacle, including Walter Goncalves vs. Aliff Sor Dechapan, goes down inside the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

North American and Canadian viewers can watch the upcoming event live and for free with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.

Walter Goncalves looks to end three-fight skid against Aliff Sor Dechapan

Walter Goncalves has fought in ONE Championship six times, showcasing his potential along the way. Unfortunately for him, he's coming off three consecutive losses (two in Muay Thai and one in MMA).

At ONE 169, Goncalves plans to turn things around with an impressive performance in his strawweight debut against Aliff Sor Dechapan.

It should be noted that the Brazilian's promotional tenure has featured world championship-caliber opponents, including Superlek and Rodtang.

As for Aliff, the 21-year-old holds a promotional Muay Thai record of 5-1.

He started with four consecutive wins, including three by knockout, before suffering a split-decision setback against Ellis Badr Barboza. Aliff also has one kickboxing bout in ONE, a unanimous decision loss against Zhang Peimian in April.

The Thai-Malaysian strawweight bounced back in August with an impressive first-round knockout win against Zakaria El Jamari. The Sor Dechapan affiliate now looks to prove why he deserves a ranked opponent by taking out Goncalves.
