WATCH: Algerian striker Elias Mahmoudi's devastating three-hit combo in ONE debut against Yukinori Ogasawara

Professional athletes know how important it is to win in their debut, and it was no different for decorated Muay Thai star Elias Mahmoudi when he made his way to ONE Championship in January 2019.

'The Sniper' was welcomed to ONE by Yukinori Ogasawara at ONE: Hero's Ascent, just a few months after the Japanese star knocked out Rui Botelho with a brilliant spinning back elbow.

The former WBC Muay Thai International Super Featherweight Champion looked extremely comfortable inside the circle as he caught Ogasawara with a stellar three-piece combo midway through the bout.

This was only but one moment in a contest filled with one for Mahmoudi as he ultimately took home the win.

Since then, Mahmoudi has traded wins and losses to post a 3-2 record, with his most recent outing at ONE Fight Night 13 in August 2023 being a TKO victory over defeating Edgar Tabares.

Elias Mahmoudi will have the toughest challenge of his ONE career to date as he takes on vaunted Japanese kickboxer Taiki Naito at ONE Fight Night 24 on August 2 inside Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

'Silent Sniper' is as dangerous as they come in the flyweight kickboxing division. He has stood toe-to-toe with ONE world champions like Superlek Kiatmoo9, Jonathan Haggerty, and Petchdam Petchyindee.

Naito's relentless pressure might pose problems for the Mahmoudi Gym product and it will be up to Mahmoudi and his team to work out a game plan that can counter against such an approach.
