WATCH: American star Alyse Anderson changes submission holds in the heat of battle against Asha Roka
Under the bright lights of ONE Championship, women's atomweight MMA star Alyse Anderson has shown she can adapt to any situation in the heat of battle.
After a tough unanimous decision loss to Japanese judoka Itsuki Hirata in her promotional debut, 'Lil Savage' shared the circle with Indian National Boxing champion Asha Roka in May 2022.
'Knockout Queen' found herself in an armbar submission attempt by Anderson early in the fight. Despite Roka being able to ease off the pressure with ground strikes, Anderson responded by transitioning into a triangle choke that forced the tap.
Check out Alyse Anderson's heads-up play below as shared by ONE on Instagram:
Anderson sought to capitalize on her momentum after her big win over Roka in her next fight when she faced Stamp Fairtex in May 2023.
However, the American Top Team star ultimately succumbed to the Thai megastar's power as she caught a big kick to the body that rendered her unable to continue.
Despite the defeat, Anderson is as confident as ever in her abilities as she returns to the cage at ONE 168: Denver on September 6 inside the Ball Arena against Victoria Souza.

Preparation is everything in combat sports, and Brazilian star Victoria Souza is doing just that for her all-important matchup with Anderson.
The Ataque Duplo and Chute Boxe Floripa product said as much in an interview with Sportskeeda MMA following her victory at ONE 167 last month:
"Before [my win], we were looking for this fight against Hirata. Now, I want to relax, unwind, and get back to watching Alyse's fights to work on a good fight against her."
