WATCH: Bantamweight MMA king Fabricio Andrade's volatile rivalry with fellow Brazilian KO machine John Lineker
ONE Championship fans witnessed one of the most intense rivalries in the promotion's bantamweight MMA division play out between Brazilian knockout artists Fabricio Andrade and John Lineker.
'Hands of Stone' and Andrade first fought in October 2022 over the ONE bantamweight MMA world championship. Unfortunately, their action-packed clash ended in a no contest as Lineker could not continue due to an accidental knee to the groin.
Their rematch was set for February 2023, with the vacant ONE bantamweight MMA crown again on the line. This time, however, a definitive finish would come in favor of 'Wonder Boy' as he dominated Lineker via TKO in the fourth round to claim his first-ever ONE world championship.
Check out the highlights of their two-chapter war below, as shared by ONE on Instagram:
It was a career-defining performance from the Brazilian star after producing similar results against the likes of ONE bantamweight MMA stars Kwon Won Il, Jeremy Pacatiw, and Li Kai Wen.
In his most recent fight last November though, Andrade absorbed his first ONE loss at the hands of bantamweight Muay Thai world titlist Jonathan Haggerty during their bout for the then-vacant ONE bantamweight kickboxing world championship.
Fabricio Andrade open to defending bantamweight MMA gold against anyone
ONE Championship fans have yet to see Fabricio Andrade fight again since the loss to Haggerty due to a series of injuries that plagued his 2023 campaign.
After taking the time to recuperate and spend time with his family, the Tiger Muay Thai and Evolve MMA product appears ready to step back inside the circle.
In a recent Instagram post, Andrade issued an open challenge to all comers hoping to knock him off the bantamweight MMA throne.
Andrade wrote in the caption:
"Who is next? @onechampionship #mma #champion #onechampionship"
