WATCH: British superstar Jonathan Haggerty's cunning method to trap his opponents into brutal counter shots
Among the technical fighters in combat sports today, Jonathan Haggerty is among the names who are constantly thrown into this conversation due to his top-level fight IQ.
This top-notch cerebral approach of Haggerty was on full display in a recent Instagram post that ONE Championship published:
"Mastermind at work 🧠💡 What's your prediction for Jonathan Haggerty vs. Superlek at ONE 168: Denver? 🥊 @jhaggerty_"
The eight-slide post highlighted the outstanding counterattacks and mid-fight adjustments from 'The General'. He victimized Nong-O Hama, Joseph Lasiri, Sam-A Gaiyanghadao, Fabricio Andrade, Mongkolpetch Petchyindee, Taiki Naito, and Vladimir Kuzmin.
This incredible skill also helped the British superstar, as he has been able to capture three world titles in the promotion. First, he won the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title in 2019 and then became the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion after leaving the 135-pound division.
Haggerty is coming off a successful bantamweight Muay Thai world title defense against Felipe Lobo in February 2024 at ONE Fight Night 19, where he pulled off a come-from-behind victory in front of the Lumpinee Stadium crown in Bangkok, Thailand.
Jonathan Haggerty is ready to take his revenge against Superlek in their megafight at ONE 168: Denver
Six years after their first meeting under the YOKKAO banner, Haggerty and Superlek and Kiatmoo9 will cross paths once again in the world's largest martial arts organization. They are scheduled to headline the return of ONE Championship to American soil at ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6 at Ball Arena.
The Keddles Gym, Knowlesy Academy, and Team Underground representative hasn't forgotten the nasty cut that 'The Kicking Machine' handed him, which cost him to lose their first meeting.
Now, the London native is looking forward to returning the favor against the reigning ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion and making him taste his own blood.
He revealed this plan during a recent interview with InsideFighting, as he proclaimed:
"I guess that loss to Superlek. You know, if I'm being honest, it was meant to be. Last time, he cut me. Now, it's my turn to cut him."

ONE 168: Denver will take place at the Ball Arena in Colorado on Sept. 6 during U.S. primetime. Tickets for the event are available on Ticketmaster.
