WATCH: Chinese striking machine Zhang Peimian lights up Aliff Sor Dechapan in ferocious Bangkok duel

Every combat sports athlete is looking to get a chance to shine in the big leagues. Chinese kickboxing phenom Zhang Peimian has had his fair share of moments in ONE Championship.

Better known as the 'Fighting Rooster', Zhang has put up an impressive four wins in the promotion with a big TKO in his debut, though it is his most recent performance that showcased how greatly he has continued to develop.

This past April, Zhang shared the circle with Aliff Sor Dechapan in a strawweight kickboxing bout that saw Aliff Sor Dechapan use his long reach to keep him at bay, but Zhang waded through the attacks and landed hits of his own en route to a unanimous decision win.

It was a smart fight overall from Zhang and he was ecstatic to return to the win column after a heartbreaking split decision loss to Rui Botelho in November 2023.

Most fighters would want to get their chance to reclaim a defeat especially if it was a narrow one, but the Shengli Fight Club product has already moved past it.

In an interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Zhang Peimian stated:

"I don't think it's necessary to fight Botelho again because I definitely won that fight. But for my next fight, my only target is the vacant title."

The title that Zhang is referring to is the currently vacant ONE strawweight kickboxing world championship.

However, he will need to wait his turn as it will be contested between Prajanchai PK Saenchai, the ONE strawweight Muay Thai world champion, and Jonathan Di Bella at ONE Friday Fights 68 on Friday, June 28 inside the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

ONE Friday Fights 68 is available on pay-per-view at watch.onefc.com.
