WATCH: Cub Swanson suffers vicious KO on bantamweight debut by Jonathan Martinez's brutal leg kicks

Cub Swanson made his banatmweight debut against Jonathan Martinez in the co-main event at UFC Vegas 62. After starting off on even footing, Martinez quickly took over the fight in the final seconds of the opening round and went on to score a brutal finish in round two.

Swanson started on the outside, landing a few good leg kicks on Martinez who answered with a few of his own to the body. The veteran successfully landed a double leg takedown and even gained side control but Martinez was quick to get back up.

Back on their feet, Martinez landed a flush combo and dropped Swanson with a huge knee to the head. As Swanson briefly regained footing, 'Dragon' dropped him again with a knee to the body. Martinez then landed heavy shots on the veteran, who was saved by the bell as he covered up.

Swanson was still dazed from the beatdown seconds ago when the second round started. Martinez quickly took the fight to the ground and sought for a finish but Swanson managed to get back to his feet.

'Dragon' landed a brutal leg kick that chopped Swanson down to the ground with hardly a minute left in the round. As the 38-year-old was visibly hurt, Martinez landed another leg kick that was essentially the fight ender. Only a single follow-up shot was required for referee Herb Dean to step in at the 4:19 mark in round two.

A true veteran of the sport, Cub Swanson has been a part of the UFC since it took over the WEC and holds wins over the likes of Dustin Poirier and Charles Oliveira.

Fight fans were naturally disheartened to see the 38-year-old get brutally finished by Jonathan Martinez in the UFC Vegas 62 co-headliner:

While people had their sympathies for Swanson, they did not fail to notice the excellent showing from Martinez. @nikolasdiallo wrote:
