WATCH: Demetrious Johnson grapples with Garry Tonon on YouTube
Demetrious Johnson was recently seen training with fellow ONE Championship fighter Garry Tonon.
Johnson’s YouTube Channel, Mighty Gaming, has evolved from showing his video game streams to sharing video reactions, fight analysis, and training footage. The current ONE flyweight world champion recently posted a video of him training at New Wave Jiu-Jitsu, which John Danaher runs. ‘Mighty Mouse’ captioned the video:
“Demetrious Johnson trains with Garry Tonon at New Wave!!!”
In the training video, Johnson rolled with Tonon, a multiple-time BJJ world champion. ‘The Lion Killer’ transitioned to MMA, where he worked his way up to become a world title challenger. He will be looking to return to his winning ways when 2023 rolls in.
Meanwhile, ‘Mighty Mouse’ is preparing for his trilogy fight against Adriano Moraes in May 2023. Johnson lost to ‘Mikinho’ in April 2021 before avenging the loss in August 2022. Their third fight will occur at ONE on Prime Video 10, the first ONE Championship event in the United States.

Demetrious Johnson doesn’t believe age has been a factor in his career
Demetrious Johnson is aging like fine wine as a fighter. The 36-year-old made his ONE debut in March 2019. Since then, he has won the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix, the ONE flyweight world title, and a historic mixed-rules bout against Rodtang Jitmuangnon. During an interview with ONE, Johnson had this to say about age being a factor in his fighting career:
“Now, being 36, I understand how to fight and how to pace myself while pushing the pace… We haven’t crossed that bridge yet. I’m still trying to figure it out, [but] I’m not too worried about it. I’m gonna train my ass off and go out there and fight.”
Before joining ONE, Johnson terrorized the UFC flyweight division by becoming a 12x champion. Most MMA fans didn’t know what to expect when he was traded to ONE for Ben Askren. ‘Mighty Mouse’ never skipped a beat and continues to put on impressive performances. The MMA legend now has a massive opportunity to showcase his skills in ONE’s U.S. debut at ONE on Prime Video 10.
