Unfortunately, for Johnson and the Seattle fans, the 49ers emerged victorious on that day, but ‘Mighy Mouse’ has no intentions of coming up short in one of the biggest fights of his professional mixed martial arts career.

After splitting two spectacular knockouts against one another, Johnson and Moraes will square off one final time to settle the score and answer once and for all, who is the greatest flyweight fighter of all time.

ONE Championship will make its long-awaited debut in the United States on May 5 as they present its 10th edition of ONE on Prime Video. Emanating from the 1stBank Center in mile-high Colorado, fans around the globe will be treated to one of the biggest events in promotional history.

Demetrious Johnson’s foundation in wrestling has helped him stay on top in MMA

After nearly two decades of competing, Demetrious Johnson is still one of the best fighters in the world. After dominating in North America for years, ‘Mighy Mouse’ moved over to ONE Championship in an unprecedented trade and did not disappoint.

Capturing the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix championship in 2019, 'DJ' moved on to become the promotion’s undisputed flyweight king in August, defeating division rival Adriano Moraes with a knockout of the year candidate.

Speaking with longtime MMA commentator Joe Rogan on his podcast, Demetrious Johnson discussed his long run at the top and believes wrestling in middle school is where it all began:

“It’s probably my upbringing in martial arts, right? I was talking to people the other day and I told them I started when I was 18 in martial arts. If you count, some people don’t count wrestling as a martial art, I do. So I started in middle school, then I got to high school, I didn’t go to wrestle, I jumped straight to mixed martial arts.”

Demetrious Johnson continued, saying:

“Now when I get to my fights or when I do things, I’m able to go back to my beginning. I’ve faced this before and I’m able to just keep getting better. My foundation is so solid that it’s what’s been able to keep me on top for so long.”
