WATCH: Demetrious Johnson’s somber conversation with fellow MMA legend Angela Lee in Hawaii

MMA legend Demetrious Johnson has slowly carved a path as one of the best fighter-turned-interviewers, and his latest conversation with Angela Lee was one of his finest yet.

The reigning ONE flyweight MMA world champion recently visited Lee's home state of Hawaii where he and the inaugural ONE women's atomweight MMA world champion had a somber conversation about the sport, mental health, and their respective careers.

Lee was Johnson's guest in his latest episode of the MIGHTYcast on his Mighty YouTube channel, and the pair even had a special setting for the interview.

Instead of Johnson's usual studio, or an online meeting between them, the two icons sat on a gorgeous beachfront in Kapolei, Hawaii.

Lee discussed her younger days growing up under the guidance of Ken and Jewelz Lee, both of whom were lifelong martial artists.

The pair also discussed how to raise children in a martial arts environment, as well as Lee's career retrospective with ONE Championship where she became one of the best fighters in the promotion's history.

Lee also detailed the creation of her non-profit organization FightStory after she retired from active competition in September 2023.

The end saw Demetrious Johnson reflecting and giving a recap of his emotional yet laidback conversation with Lee in Hawaii.

Demetrious Johnson says he's open to fighting boxing legend Manny Pacquiao

Demetrious Johnson is arguably one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time, and he's down to fight another legend from a different sport.

In his guest appearance at the JAXXON Podcast, Johnson said he's open to fight boxing legend Manny Pacquiao in an exhibition match.

He said:

"It was funny because I was talking with T-Wood [Tyron Woodley]. Tyron was like, ‘Hey they want me to fight Manny Pacquiao and I threw your name in the hat.’ I was like, ‘Why you throw my name in the hat like that?’ He goes, ‘You’re more his size.' And I sat there [thinking], I’ll take that fight. It’ll be a fun fight to make it happen."
