WATCH: Double-champ Christian Lee couldn't contain his happiness over younger bro Adrian Lee's Denver submission of Nico Cornejo
No one is prouder to see rising lightweight MMA star Adrian Lee win at ONE 168: Denver on Sept. 6, inside the Ball Arena than big brother and reigning ONE lightweight and welterweight MMA world champion Christian Lee.
A beaming Christian Lee gushed about his younger brother's performance at ONE 168: Denver in the post-fight interview with Nick Atkin, which Sportskeeda MMA shared on Instagram:
Fresh off a submission finish of Antonio Mammarella in his promotional debut this past June at ONE 167, 'The Phenom' was tasked with having to deal with Nico Cornejo's wrestling skills and power, which he relied on to win his two pro fights outside of ONE via TKO.
However, Lee prevented such an outcome at ONE 168: Denver by quickly imposing his will on 'The Steel City Kid', leading to the rear-naked choke finish midway through the first round.
For his excellent showing, the youngest member of the famed Lee family earned a $50,000 performance bonus from ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.
Adrian Lee reveals most important advice given to him by his siblings
With Adrian Lee certainly on the cusp of stardom, the Prodigy Training Center product credited his older siblings, Christian and now-retired former ONE women's atomweight MMA world champion Angela Lee, for their advice.
Lee said during the post-even media scrum with combat sports journalist Nick Atkin:
"The best advice I've gotten is to stay composed and stay focused on the game plan because that's a huge factor in every fight, and it's something that's really helped me through my game."
