WATCH: Filipino-American star Jackie Buntan looking as smooth as ever heading into world title clash against Anissa Meksen
Jackie Buntan has always been one of the most exciting fighters in ONE Championship, but her brand of excitement doesn't always rely on power and destruction.
The Filipino-American star is a certified smooth operator between the ropes, and that free-flowing style was developed through endless drills at Boxing Works in California.
Buntan has been calling the gym her second home for the entirety of her ONE Championship career, and she recently shared some updates on her training camp.
In an Instagram post, Buntan was shown seamlessly weaving some combinations with coach Jocelyn Belle.
"In the MexiThai lace-ups from @infightstyle 💥," posted Jackie Buntan.
The video showed Buntan working on her boxing combinations in preparation for her world title clash against French-Algerian legend Anissa Meksen at ONE Fight Night 23.
Buntan will face Meksen for the inaugural ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world title in the card's main event on July 5 at the historic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.
This will be the second time Buntan attempts for ONE Championship gold after she fell short against Smilla Sundell for the inaugural ONE women's strawweight Muay Thai world title in their ONE 156 barnburner in 2022.
ONE Fight Night 23, like all of ONE Championship's Amazon cards, is available live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
Smilla Sundell eyes world title winner between Jackie Buntan and Anissa Meksen
Jackie Buntan and Anissa Meksen have yet to touch gloves for their world title fight, yet, one fighter is already calling dibs to face the winner of the inaugural ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world championship.
Smilla Sundell told Sportskeeda MMA that she's already looking at the possibility of challenging either Buntan or Meksen for the division's kickboxing gold.
"I think that would also be fun, for me to try for the strawweight kickboxing belt. That would be fun for Jackie and Anissa, and maybe I can fight the winner. But, I think, I need more notice for the fight. That's my problem," said Sundell.
