WATCH: Flyweight Muay Thai king Rodtang's brilliant display of power against Jacob Smith in their first meeting
The first meeting between Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Jacob Smith in May 2022 at ONE 157, which took place inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium, was an absolute banger.
Highlights of this bloody fight were posted by the world's largest martial arts organization on their official Instagram account recently, and they captioned it with:
"BONKERS 💥 Rodtang and Jacob Smith run it back with flyweight Muay Thai gold on the line at ONE 169: Atlanta! 🥊 @rodtang_jimungnon"
Throughout the bout, 'The Iron Man' was pouring down the accurate combinations against the British star. His one-two combinations and atomic elbow strikes became Rodtang's bread and butter.
The power of the Thai superstar was enforced by the forward pressure he displayed against Smith. In the end, Rodtang picked up the masterful unanimous decision victory to record his 11th win under the promotion.
After that win over the Bad Company and Thaifist representative, Rodtang won four of his last five fights, thus beating the likes of Joseph Lasiri (in November 2022 at ONE on Prime Video 4), Jiduo Yibu (in January 2023 at ONE Fight Night 6), Edgar Tabares (in May 2023 at ONE Fight Night 10), and Denis Puric (in June 2024 at ONE 167). His lone loss during this stretch was courtesy of Superlek Kiatmoo9 (in September 2023 at ONE Friday Fights 34).
