Watch: Former UFC champion Jan Blachowicz's hilarious reaction to his eye surgery
In May of this year, Jan Blachowicz defeated Aleksandar Rakic via third-round TKO after the latter suffered a mid-fight knee injury. Blachowicz didn't escape the bout unscathed either, suffering an injury to his left eye's tear duct region.
Regardless, the former UFC light heavyweight champion had a hilarious reaction to his subsequent eye surgery.
Poland's Blachowicz went through a surgical procedure soon after the Rakic matchup. It's believed that the 39-year-old underwent glaucoma tube-shunt surgery. It involves attaching a plastic tube and silicone drainage pouch into the injured eye to remove excess fluid and thereby reduce eye pressure.
In the surgery's aftermath, Jan Blachowicz posted an Instagram video of himself while seemingly under the influence of the drugs administered to him. Blachowicz lightheartedly suggested that he enjoyed being under the influence and stated:
"Okay. So, we do this small surgery to fix my eye. We put something inside for six weeks, some kind of tube. And after six weeks, I need to take it out, and that's it. I'm still feel the drugs that they've given to me, and I enjoy it very much. Okay. have a nice weekend. Week, not weekend. All the best."

Jan Blachowicz on who he intends to fight after UFC 282
Jan Blachowicz's victory over Aleksandar Rakic catapulted the former champion into the title picture again. The UFC later booked Blachowicz to face Magomed Ankalaev in a potential number-one contender's matchup to determine who'll fight for the belt next.
While the Blachowicz-Ankalaev fight was scheduled to take place at UFC 282 on December 10th, the UFC 282 event was expected to be headlined by the title rematch between Jiri Prochazka and Glover Teixeira.
However, late last month, the then-UFC light heavyweight champion Prochazka vacated his title owing to a serious shoulder injury. Meanwhile, Teixeira turned down the UFC's offer to fight Ankalaev at UFC 282, as he wanted more time to prepare for a different stylistic matchup.
Resultantly, the Jan Blachowicz-Magomed Ankalaev matchup will be contested with the vacant UFC light heavyweight title on the line at UFC 282. Blachowicz recently spoke to Yahoo! Sports' Kevin Iole and revealed that he'd like to face Glover Teixeira after UFC 282.
Teixeira beat Blachowicz via second-round submission to win the 205-pound belt in October 2021. Seeking to avenge that defeat, Blachowicz said:
"The one rematch I really want is the one with Glover because, I don't know, I didn't like how that went. It is what it is, but that's the one fight where I didn't [fight] the way I wanted to or can."
