WATCH: Get a quick step-by-step guide to Superlek's patented pull-knee strike counter against Fahdi Khaled
ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 unleashed his bag of tricks against Tunisia's Fahdi Khaled in September 2020 at ONE: A New Breed II.
'The Kicking Machine' slipped past a front kick attempt from Khaled and immediately countered with a knee to the midsection. Superlek went on to win their flyweight kickboxing bout by unanimous decision.
Check out Superlek's masterful counter below, which ONE shared on Instagram:
After defeating Khaled, Superlek challenged then-ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Ilias Ennahachi in February 2021. His bid at a ONE world title ultimately ended in heartbreak as Ennahachi outlasted him in their five-round encounter.
The Kiatmoo9 Gym star bounced back with three straight wins before claiming the vacant 135-pound kickboxing crown in January 2023 over Daniel Puertas.
This past June, he improved his winning streak to 10 with a dominant showing against fellow Thai star Kongthoranee Sor Sommai.
Superlek will next challenge Jonathan Haggerty for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship at ONE 168: Denver on September 6 inside the Ball Arena.
Jonathan Haggerty has complete trust in his coach's game plan for Superlek megafight
Jonathan Haggerty, who also holds the ONE bantamweight kickboxing world championship, is fully confident in his team's game plan for defending the 145-pound Muay Thai crown against Superlek at ONE 168: Denver.
Speaking with ONE Championship, 'The General' stated:
"I believe in my coach, Christian Knowles, and he watches Superlek quite a lot, and we implement it in training a lot, not giving too much away. We know what his weaknesses are and his strengths. He likes his right side. His right side is his best attributes — his kicks, his elbows. So, we're here to exploit them on September 6."
Watch ONE 168: Denver live inside the Ball Arena on September 6. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster.
