WATCH: Henry Cejudo and Aljamain Sterling get into another altercation at UFC 285 backstage

A match-up between Henry Cejudo and Aljamain Sterling is reportedly being finalized by the UFC for May 6 at UFC 288 and it seems that the duo can't wait to get their hands on each other.

Earlier today at UFC 285 the fighters got into a heated exchange backstage, ultimately prompting security staff to separate them. A video posted to Twitter shows the fighters shouting at each other while they are being separated.

This is hardly the first time the duo has gone at it recently. 'Triple C' and Sterling had a rather tense interaction earlier this week at the UFC PI about their upcoming fight.

Cejudo told Sterling that he needs just two weeks to prepare to fight the bantamweight champion and reminded 'Funk Master' that the "clock is ticking" on his title reign:

"I just need two weeks, that's it... I'm in shape. Remember, the clock is ticking."

Henry Cejudo is a former UFC two-division champion, having held both the flyweight and bantamweight titles. The American is also an Olympic gold medalist wrestler.

'Triple C' holds a pro-MMA record of 16-2. However, he hasn't fought professionally in almost three years.

Aljamain Sterling has defended his title twice since becoming champion at UFC 259. 'Funk Master' holds a pro record of 22-3 and is currently on an eight-fight win streak.

Henry Cejudo expresses doubts about whether Aljamain Sterling will show up for their UFC 288 fight

Former UFC two-division champion Henry Cejudo believes Aljamain Sterling is afraid to fight him and as such, 'Triple C' doubts whether 'Funk Master' will sign the contract for the fight.

On a recent episode of his podcast, Cejudo spoke about his upcoming fight, saying:

"Aljamain Sterling vs. Henry Cejudo, or is the fight even signed yet?because there is one person who hasn't signed it and his name is Aljamain Sterling. Guys at this point, I really don't trust 'Aljizz-Lame' Sterling...because he is afraid of the 'Triple C' man, it's plain and simple."

'Triple C' believes that the promotion is not too happy with Sterling being the champion and is pushing for a fight between the duo to get rid of 'Funk Master':

"I think there is a reason why the UFC is putting this fight together. Pretty much what they are trying to do is, 'Triple C', come over here and take out the trash. Come over here and take out 'Aljizz-Lame'."
