WATCH: Henry Cejudo re-enacts UFC 286 headliner to point out Kamaru Usman's mistakes

Kamaru Usman suffered only the second loss of his UFC career in his title rematch against Leon Edwards at UFC 286. Two straight losses against the same opponent have pegged the former welterweight champion back and this marks the most difficult phase of his career.

Former bantamweight and flyweight champion Henry Cejudo outlined the various mistakes Usman made in his main event loss on his YouTube channel. Cejudo pointed out the former champ's approach when being pinned to the cage and explained how he could have transitioned into attack mode:

“Kamaru’s a good friend of mine but I think the biggest adjustments that Kamaru could have made, particularly against the cage, was he sat here too much. He wasn’t locking his hands. There’s a way of you pressing peiople where you’re able to press, at the same time cinching your way in, where you’re able to lock and to be able to lift them, put them down and then start finding wrists to start transitioning, to start pounding.”

'Triple C' also questioned the timing of the rematch while referencing the shocking knockout inflicted on Usman by Edwards at UFC 278:

“After getting knocked out the way that Kamaru did, look, my biggest question was, was it too soon? Was it too soon for Kamaru Usman to come back and take a fight like that, you know what I mean? Was there time for improvement for him? What’s next for him? I think he waits and see if Colby Covington beats Leon Edwards. Or the next possible matchup would be him and Khamzat Chimaev, I think that’s another great fight that could particularly take place.”

Francis Ngannou shows support for Kamaru Usman after UFC 286 loss against Leon Edwards

Former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou showed support for his longtime friend Kamaru Usman on social media.

Ngannou took to Twitter, declaring Usman a champion even though he doesn't hold the belt currently. 'The Predator' also mentioned the dominant legacy that Usman has carved in UFC welterweight history.

He tweeted:

"You are a champion with or without a piece of metal my brother. Your legacy is already cemented in the history of the sport. @USMAN84kg We are always behind you [3x prince emoji] [flag of Nigeria emoji] [flag of Cameroon emoji] #3kings"

The '3 Kings' that Francis Ngannou referred to in his tweet are Israel Adesanya, Kamaru Usman, and himself. The trio of African fighters were all champions in their own divisions a little over a year ago.

Since then, Ngannou finds himself outside the promotion, while 'The Last Stylebender' and 'The Nigerian Nightmare' have been dethroned after their historic reigns.
