WATCH: In-depth footage of Demetrious Johnson and Henry Cejudo training together
Demetrious Johnson and Henry Cejudo have come together as one of the most surprising but successful duos in recent years.
The two former rivals in the UFC recently linked up when DJ was training for his second fight with Adriano Moraes at ONE on Prime Video 1. It looks like the relationship stuck, as they are back training together again.
On Johnson’s YouTube channel, Mighty Gaming, there’s a new video that shows the two elite competitors training together and drilling techniques, with both men teaching each other some tricks of the trade.
Watching both Cejudo and Johnson teach each other, whether it’s 'Triple C' demonstrating wrestling setups or ‘Mighty Mouse’ drilling submission routines, is a sight to behold.
Watch the video below:
Interestingly, the video is titled, “Demetrious Johnson & Henry Cejudo prepping for their fights!!!” Whilst Johnson recently had his third fight with Adriano Moraes announced, Cejudo is yet to return to competition since his retirement in 2020.
With rumors going around that he will return against UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling, the video shows that he is already preparing for a fight.
Johnson will look to defend his newly-acquired ONE flyweight world title against Moraes at ONE on Prime Video 10 on May 5, headlining the event that will be ONE’s debut on US soil.
After both men picked up a devastating finish in their first two fights, the trilogy decider will be one of the most-anticipated fights of 2023.
“Started doing things differently” – Demetrious Johnson tells Joe Rogan that he was in a better place for Adriano Moraes rematch
Demetrious Johnson recently revealed what he changed in his preparation for his rematch with Adriano Moraes. At ONE on Prime Video 1, Johnson ran it back with Adriano Moraes with the flyweight world championship on the line again.
After being finished for the first time in his career in their first meeting, DJ had a lot of pressure on his shoulders as he looked to avenge his loss.
In a recent appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience (JRE), Demetrious Johnson spoke openly for the first time about how losing his sister had forced him to make some changes in his life.
‘Mighty Mouse’ spoke about how he has been able to relieve some of the pressure by enjoying day to day life and training more:
"When I fought Adriano the second time, it was probably the toughest training camp. But I started doing things differently. Before, I’m trying to be perfect - 'I can’t have any beer, I can’t go watch a concert, I got to be strict.'"
Johnson continued:
"The last sparring session before the Adriano fight, I went to a concert, had two beers, had a f***ing chicken sandwich. I’m like, 'I need to enjoy my life.' Because eventually, I’m going to die. I don’t want to be on my deathbed and not enjoy my life. That traumatic thing in my life shifted my whole perspective. That whole mindset made me a better athlete and a better fighter."
