WATCH: Japanese kickboxing superstar Masaaki Noiri looking powerful ahead of ONE debut at ONE 167
Just like his fellow Japanese superstar K-1 Kickboxing champion Takeru Segawa, Masaaki Noiri will have his maiden match under ONE Championship as he makes his much-awaited debut on June 7.
Masaaki is booked to meet the current number three-ranked featherweight kickboxing contender Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong in an all-important clash at ONE 167, which will emanate inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
In a recent sneak peek of his preparation for the upcoming showdown, the Japanese star was seen hitting the pads with solid power and precision. ONE Championship published the short clip on their Instagram account and captioned it with:
"Masaaki Noiri is ready for action 🔥 Will the Japanese beat Thai legend Sitthichai in his big debut at ONE 167 on @primevideo? @noiri.masaaki"
The 31-year-old athlete intends to land these shots on his Thai counterpart to officially unseat him from his position in the top five rankings and announce his grand arrival in the world's largest martial arts organization.
Masaaki Noiri has been ramping up his preparation since fight with Sitthichai was announced
Just days after signing an exclusive multi-fight deal with ONE Championship, the promotion wasted no time and immediately pitted Masaaki against Sitthichai. This announcement was instantly followed by a training camp for the Japanese star.
Since then, Masaaki has been posting updates on his preparation through social media platforms. This not only teases fans for his first match but also builds a connection with the fan base.
Once he passes the test against Sitthichai, Masaaki could be included in the latest version of the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix later this year.
ONE 167 is available live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America in U.S. primetime on June 7. The card goes down inside the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
