WATCH: Jarred Brooks' nearly pops Lito Adiwang's eyes off its sockets in dominant ONE Championship debut

American MMA superstar Jarred Brooks made an outstanding debut at ONE: NextGen III in November 2021 when he submitted Filipino slugger Lito Adiwang in the second round of their bout inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The finishing sequence of the bout was reposted by ONE Championship on Instagram, and they captioned the short clip with:

"Securing the submission 😨 Can Jarred Brooks claim another dominant finish against Gustavo Balart and become ONE Interim Strawweight MMA World Champion this Friday at ONE Fight Night 24 on @primevideo? @the_monkeygod"

As seen in the video, 'The Monkey God' almost took out 'The Thunder Kid's' eyes with an incredibly tight arm triangle choke that forced him to tap out instead of going to sleep.

This triumph has put Brooks sent massive shockwaves throughout the weight class and it was the beginning of a destructive trail that eventually crowned him the undisputed ONE strawweight MMA world champion.

Aside from Adiwang, the Mash Fight Team representative also defeated Hiroba Minowa, Bokang Masunyane, and Joshua Pacio, to his hit list.

Brooks' first world title defense at ONE 166: Qatar in March saw him lose to Pacio in their rematch through disqualification after he accidentally hit him with an unintentional spike on the head that made him unable to fight.

Despite the setback, the 31-year-old American is looking to return to the win column and bounce back on August 2 at ONE Fight Night 24 when he faces number three-ranked contender Gustavo Balart for the ONE interim strawweight MMA world title in front of the packed Lumpinee Stadium crowd in Bangkok.

ONE Fight Night 24 will air live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America on August 2 during U.S. primetime.
