Jon Jones takes on Cyril Gane for the vacant heavyweight strap at UFC 285
At UFC 285, Jon Jones is set to make his return to the UFC after a long hiatus. He takes on the surging Cyril Gane in a bid to make history and cement his legacy as the greatest to ever do it.
In his way stands the Frenchman, Gane, a skilled striker with deft movement, footwork and a highly evolved striking game. Gane, however, was outwrestled by former champion, Francis Ngannou in his last bout. This may be worrying for , as Gane fans, as Jones brings a much stronger wrestling game to the table.
Furthermore, Jones appeared to have some difficulty in some of his recent fights. The Dominick Reyes fight in particular, which many believe Jones lost, saw him struggle with the sharp angles and footwork of Reyes. With Gane being a natural heavyweight, he may be able to exploit the same holes with a greater degree of effectiveness against Jones.
Jones, however, is known for his fight IQ, and finding a way to win, as well as beating opponents at their own game. For that reason, this fight is extremely intriguing, and UFC 285 promises to be one for the history books.
