WATCH: Jonathan Haggerty heats up in training camp ahead of ONE 168 world title super fight against Superlek in Denver
Two-sport ONE world champion Jonathan Haggerty is set to defend the bantamweight Muay Thai world title against ONE flyweight kickboxing world champ Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE 168 on Sept. 6 inside the Ball Arena in Denver.
'The General' claimed dominion over the bantamweight Muay Thai division when he pulled off the shocking first-round knockout against then-world champ and Thai icon Nong-O Hama.
But fighting 'The Kicking Machine' will be a whole different monster in and of itself and it is something that Haggerty and his team are preparing for in training camp.
Though he has not said much about his game plan for the fight, Jonathan Haggerty's latest training video on Instagram seems to point to him counting heavily on his reach advantage against Superlek with a focus on throwing a lot more kicks to the body.
Superlek is coming off a superb performance last June 28 at ONE Friday Fights 68 where he claimed a unanimous decision victory over the hard-hitting Kongthoranee Sor Sommai in their hotly anticipated flyweight Muay Thai bout to push his ONE record to 14-1.
Jonathan Haggerty promises to find Superlek's weaknesses
For every seemingly unbeatable fighter, there is always a way to pull off the victory and Haggerty is promising to expose the holes in Superlek's armor.
Jonatha Haggerty told Sportskeeda MMA:
"Yeah, 100 percent. We do see some weaknesses there. [When] we got asked to fight Superlek this time, we had a game plan straight away. My coach, Christian Knowles, we put a game plan together, and there's a few holes we see within his game. And we're gonna exploit them. We're gonna show that in September."
Tickets for ONE 168 are now available via Ticketmaster.
