WATCH: Jorge Masvidal almost gets into street fight ahead of Gilbert Burns clash at UFC 287

Jorge Masvidal was recently spotted almost getting into an altercation on the streets ahead of his welterweight showdown against Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 tonight. 'Gamebred' has been a mainstay in the promotion since his debut, and the Miami native has earned immense success in his ten years in the UFC.

In a recent TMZ video uploaded to Twitter by @SpinninBackfist, an aggressive Masvidal can be seen on the street being held back by his companions as he tries to charge someone. The visibly amped-up welterweight fighter made multiple attempts at going at his provoker but settled down before walking away, saying:

"I'll see you later baby."
Nothing unusual, just Jorge trying to get into a street fight the day before fighting a top 5 fighter in the world #UFC287

Jorge Masvidal is currently on a three-fight losing skid and last tasted victory in November 2019, when he defeated Nate Diaz via a third-round TKO for the symbolic 'BMF' title (Baddest Motherf***er title).

Meanwhile, the No.5-ranked welterweight Gilbert Burns has won three out of his last five fights and will look to extend his winning streak after beating Neil Magny via first-round submission at UFC 283.

While a fighter on a three-fight losing skid is rarely considered a candidate for a title shot, Masvidal's history with welterweight champion Leon Edwards has made him a serious option to challenge for the belt if he can get past 'Durinho' tonight.

UFC 287: Jorge Masvidal dismisses Colby Covington's title shot claims

Jorge Masvidal hates the idea of Colby Covington getting a title shot and recently went off on 'Chaos' in an expletive rant as he rubbished claims of the No.2-ranked welterweight contender fighting for the belt.

After Leon Edwards defeated Kamaru Usman in their rematch at UFC 286 and solidified his status as the welterweight champion, UFC president Dana White made it very clear that Covington will be the next contender to get a shot at the title against 'Rocky.' When the news broke, many fans criticized the promotion for giving 'Chaos' undue benefits.

In a recent UFC 287 pre-fight press conference, Jorge Masvidal weighed in on Colby Covington's potential title shot.

'Gamebred' brought up the brain injury claims made by the 35-year-old Californian following their nasty incident in a Miami restaurant last year and questioned the legality of Covington fighting for the welterweight belt:

"Those things about Colby fighting Leon, those are rumors. That dude has a brain injury, like I said... I got three felonies on my head because this guy's saying, 'I got a brain injury.' I'm pretty sure on a medical level, you can't fight if you have a brain injury."
Jorge Masvidal calls Colby Covington "the king of calling cops and sucking c*cks" and questions how he'll get a UFC title shot while making legal claims of brain injury.
