WATCH: MMA legend Demetrious Johnson breaks down the genius behind Tawanchai and Superbon's Muay Thai banger
Reigning ONE flyweight MMA world champion Demetrious Johnson continues to share his fight knowledge with the combat sports community through his YouTube videos, during which he breaks down fights.
Recently, ONE Championship reposted a snippet of his analysis of the ONE featherweight Muay Thai title match between holder Tawanchai PK Saenchai and now-ONE interim featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon in December 2023 at ONE Friday Fights 46.
The promotion wrote the short clip's caption with:
"Effortless 🧠What's your take on Tawanchai vs Jo Nattawut III at ONE 169: Atlanta? @tawanchay_pk @mighty"
In the video, 'Mighty Mouse' examined the elite fight IQ of Tawanchai, as he was able to set up a beautiful elbow strike that went through the guard of Superbon in one of the sequences during the championship bout.
According to the 38-year-old American, the reigning ONE featherweight Muay Thai king conditioned Superbon with vicious body kicks to force him to defend it until he eventually dropped his hands a bit.
This opened up the opportunity for the sneaky elbow strike that caught the challenger off guard and stunned him momentarily. Ultimately, the PK Saenchai Muay Thai Gym athlete eked out a majority decision nod from the judges to extend his reign as the division's ruler.
Tawanchai and Superbon are booked to face Jo Nattawut in their upcoming fights
In the next three months, Tawanchai and Superbon will face the same opponent in their upcoming fights, as they are pitted against Jo Nattawut.
On Sept. 27, Superbon is slated to battle 'Smokin' Jo in a featherweight Muay Thai fight at the main event of ONE Friday Fights 81 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Then, on Nov. 8, Tawanchai will meet the Thai Top Team representative in a trilogy match for the ONE featherweight Muay Thai gold as part of the stacked ONE 169: Atlanta card, which will take place inside the State Farm Arena.
Tickets for ONE 169 are available at Ticketmaster.
