WATCH: Regian Eersel's scientific brilliance in sub-minute knockout of Russian striking machine Dmitry Menshikov

Regian Eersel successfully fended off the challenge of Dmitry Menshikov in under a minute during their ONE lightweight Muay Thai world title bout in June 2023 at ONE Fight Night 11.

The fight ended in just 46 seconds in front of the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, and ONE Championship posted the full fight on their Instagram recently.

They wrote its caption with:

"Just 46 SECONDS! 😱 Can Regian Eersel snatch back the ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Title at ONE Fight Night 25 on @primevideo? @koolhydraat"

'The Immortal' opened with a solid calf kick against Menshikov before gauging his range with a jab. The Russian powerhouse answered with two strong leg kicks of his own to record his significant strike.

They both exchanged combinations until Eersel landed a picture-perfect left hook straight to Menshikov's temple that removed his equilibrium, and Menshikov never recovered from that atomic punch.

This marked the 10th win of the Surinamese striking sensation under the world's largest martial arts organization.

Regian Eersel claims that he surprised Alexis Nicolas during their first meeting in April 2024

Despite losing to Alexis Nicolas in April at ONE Fight Night 21 and yielding the ONE lightweight kickboxing world title with a unanimous decision loss, Eersel has found a silver lining in that particular, as he stated in a recent interview:

"No, it didn't surprise me because he was running away. He knew I was hurt, you know, I was in pain. But I think I surprised him by still walking forward. I put pressure on him and I showed him why they called me the Immortal. So yeah."

The Sityodtong Amsterdam representative will face the Frenchman in a world title rematch on Oct. 4 at ONE Fight Night 25, which will take place at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Eersel looks to avenge his defeat from Nicolas, and reclaim his 26-pound golden belt. Once successful in this rerun, he would regain his two-sport world title status.

ONE Fight Night 25 is available live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America on Oct. 4 during U.S. primetime.
