WATCH: Scottish knockout machine Nico Carrillo's meteoric rise ahead of ONE Fight Night 23

Scotland has a rich sporting heritage and ONE Championship Muay Thai star Nico Carrillo is looking to carry his country's torch in the world of combat sports. The 25-year-old will step back inside the Circle on Friday, July 5 at ONE Fight Night 23 for another high-profile fight - this time against prolific Thai knockout artist Saemapetch Fairtex.

With the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, all set to host ONE Fight Night 23, the world's largest martial arts promotion decided to give fans a refresher on how 'King of the North' uncanny rise to the top via a YouTube video they posted.

Watch the full history of Nico Carrillo's ONE Championship career below.

At ONE Friday Fights 46 this past December, Carrillo produced the biggest win of his career thus far with a clean knockout of the legendary Nong-O Hama after back-to-back TKO victories to kickstart his ONE Championship run.

Putting the former bantamweight Muay Thai world champ to sleep was quite the accomplishment, but facing another headhunter like Saemapetch is as dangerous as it can be for Carrillo's hopes of challenging for the division's top prize.

Much like he has done in his past three outings, Carrillo wants nothing more than to add the Thai star to his list of victims with a big-time knockout.

Nico Carrillo told ONE Championship recently:

"When I walk out, I think a lot of the Thai fans will be cheering for me - not just their homeboy Saemapetch. If they keep giving me Thais to fight, I'll keep putting them down. There's nobody getting in my way."

ONE Fight Night 23 will air live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
