WATCH: Scottish monster Nico Carrillo's perfect shut-out of Thai slugger Saemapetch at ONE Fight Night 23

The stature of ONE Muay Thai star Nico Carrillo only continues to grow and he made sure everyone should shine the spotlight on him following an impressive outing last Friday, July 5 at ONE Fight Night 23.

Taking place inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, 'King of the North' fought renowned head-hunter and hometown hero Saemapetch Fairtex in a bantamweight Muay Thai contest that was extremely competitive from the onset.

However, the Scottish star's meteoric left hand dropped the Fairtex Training Center product twice with two lead left hooks and took the TKO victory with a straight right down the middle thanks to the three-knockdown rule.

ONE Championship posted the top-ranked ONE bantamweight Muay Thai star's TKO finish on Instagram which can be seen below.

Nico Carrillo may have solidified his case to challenge for ONE Championship gold after latest outing

The Deachkalek Muay Thai Academy product has been extremely vocal about his plan to dethrone ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Jonathan Haggerty.

Defeating the 29-year-old Saemapetch in such a manner is proof of that desire for Carrillo and it may now be only a matter of time before he gets his chance.

However, Nico Carrillo will need to wait until after ONE 168 on Sept. 6 inside the Ball Arena in Denver as 'The General' defends his throne against flyweight kickboxing world titlist Superlek Kiatmoo9.

Tickets for ONE 168 are currently available via Ticketmaster.
