WATCH: Senegalese heavyweight ‘Reug Reug’ Oumar Kane’s riptide through ONE Championship
Senegalese fighter 'Reug Reug' Oumar Kane has steadily become a force to contend with in ONE Championship's heavyweight division with no signs of slowing down yet.
Making his promotional debut in January 2021, the 32-year-old Thiaroye sur Mer native has won five of six fights, including his last three matches.
ONE Championship recently uploaded on its YouTube channel a video of the impressive victories of 'Reug Reug' for fight fans to relive ahead of his return to action at ONE Fight Night 23: Ok vs. Rasulov on Prime Video on July 5 in Thailand.
Among the fights featured is the three-round MMA battle of attrition he had with BJJ legend Marcus 'Buchecha' Almeida in his last fight in August 2023.
Check out the video, which has now garnered over 230,000 views, below:
'Reug Reug' tore down Buchecha in their mammoth showdown with telling hits that came from all directions, be it standing up or on the ground, which swung the tide in his favor for the decision victory.
At ONE Fight Night 23, the Senegalese heavyweight will make his kickboxing debut. He is going up against ONE Championship newcomer Boucher Ketchup.
ONE Fight Night 23 will take place at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok and air live and for free to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
'Reug Reug' also seeing action at ONE 169: Atlanta
While he is currently focused on his kickboxing debut this week, 'Reug Reug' Oumar Kane is also slated to revert to MMA in his next fight later this year in the United States.
The Senegalese warrior will challenge for the ONE heavyweight MMA world title against divisional king Anatoly Malykhin of Russia at ONE 169: Atlanta on Nov. 8.
It will mark the first time that Malykhin will defend the ONE heavyweight MMA championship belt after becoming the undisputed world champion in June last year with a TKO win over erstwhile champ Arjan Bhullar in their unification match.
ONE 169: Atlanta will be played at the State Farm Arena, home of the NBA's Atlanta Hawks, and is the promotion's second show in the United States this year after ONE 168: Denver, happening in September.
