WATCH: Superbon’s trademark left kick sends Tayfun Ozcan into the shadow realm in Lumpinee Stadium
Revisit Superbon's legendary knockout against Tayfun Ozcan.
In January 2023, Superbon suffered a significant setback in his fighting career, as Chingiz Allazov knocked him out for the ONE featherweight kickboxing world title. Five months later, the kickboxing superstar returned with an opportunity to bounce back against Ozcan at ONE Fight Night 11.
Superbon silenced the doubters with a masterclass performance against Ozcan. In round two, Superbon landed a picture-perfect head kick, leaving his opponent unconscious for one of the greatest knockouts in the promotion's history.
For those who haven't seen the knockout, ONE Championship posted the entire fight on YouTube, which can be seen below by those who aren't geo-restricted:
Superbon's win against Tayfun Ozcan quickly reinserted him into the ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion. As a result, the Thai superstar was booked for a rematch against Marat Grigorian, with the interim title on the line.
The former undisputed featherweight king wouldn't be denied at ONE Friday Fights 58, as he shut down Grigorian for five rounds. Since then, Chingiz Allazov claimed he's done fighting for ONE, creating an unclear future for the division.
Superbon plans to deliver another instant classic in upcoming Jo Nattawut fight
Superbon competed in his lone promotional Muay Thai fight late last year at ONE Friday Fights 46. Although he lost by unanimous decision, the interim featherweight kickboxing king showcased his versatility with an instant classic against the reigning ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion Tawanchai.
On September 27, Superbon returns to "The Art of Eight Limbs" when the promotional returns to the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium. The Thai superstar's latest opponent for the ONE Friday Fights 81 is Jo Nattawut.
Nattawut's last three fights have undoubtedly been some of the most entertaining in ONE Championship's history. 'Smokin' defeated Luke Lessei by unanimous decision (Muay Thai) and suffered unanimous decision losses against Tawanchai (one in kickboxing and one in Muay Thai).
Nattawut is also scheduled for another crack at Tawanchai's featherweight Muay Thai world title, which goes down on November 8 at ONE 169: Atlanta. Firstly, the 35-year-old is focused on defeating Superbon. Next Friday's event in Bangkok, Thailand can be seen via pay-per-view.
