WATCH: Takeru Segawa goes through the stress of watching Rodtang Jitmuangnon dismantle Jacob Smith at ONE 169
Japanese superstar Takeru Segawa was ringside during the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title showdown between Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Jacob Smith last week during the co-main event of ONE 169.
The pain and damage that Rodtang inflicted against Smith was witnessed firsthand by Takeru inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, and his reaction to the action was captured by ONE Championship.
They recently posted the video on Instagram, and wrote the short clip's caption with:
"Taking notes 📝 What should Takeru be wary of when he takes on Rodtang in 2025? @k1takeru @rodtang_jimungnon"
In the video, 'The Natural Born Crusher' was in awe of 'The Iron Man's' elbow strike that connected cleanly on Smith's face. That strike has busted a nasty cut on the No.3-ranked contender under his right eye.
Eventually, the Thai superstar secured the unanimous decision victory against the Bad Company and Thaifist representative to reassert his mastery against him and spoil his dream of becoming a world champion.
After the fight and Rodtang's post-fight interview, Takeru went up to the ring to have another instance face-off with the former flyweight Muay Thai king.
Liam Harrison gives his initial analysis of the super fight between Rodtang and Takeru
In the same Instagram post, former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title challenger and British combat sports legend Liam Harrison has given his initial thoughts on what could transpire in the impending clash between Rodtang and Takeru.
Although there is no confirmed date and location for their highly anticipated battle yet, 'Hitman' has commented on the post, saying that Team Vasileus representative will have the advantage if their fight is gonna be in kickboxing rules, as he commented:
"Rodtangs best weapon recently have been his elbows but they're fighting kicking so I think the advantage is with Takeru under the rule set. Either way tho should be a banger."
