WATCH: Thai knockout merchant Jo Nattawut’s terrifying highlight reel ahead of ONE 170 showdown against Bampara Kouyate
Among the knockout artists set to light up ONE 170 on Friday, Jan. 24, 'Smokin’ Jo Nattawut stands out as one of the must-watch attractions, making the event’s supporting card just as compelling as the marquee matchups.
A staple of ONE Championship’s striking divisions since 2018, the Thai sensation has built a reputation for delivering electrifying performances each time he steps into the ring or circle.
To stoke anticipation for his return, the promotion recently shared a collection of his most devastating knockouts on Instagram:
Over the years, Nattawut has been part of some of the most unforgettable bouts in ONE’s history, racking up six wins.
Though setbacks have occasionally dotted his journey, he has consistently pushed his opponents to their limits, as seen in his two wars with Tawanchai PK Saenchai.
Their first meeting under kickboxing rules in October 2023 was a back-and-forth thriller, and their June 2024 rematch for the ONE featherweight Muay Thai world championship was another grueling test of skill and resilience.
Now, Nattawut is set for his next challenge at ONE 170, where he will take on Bampara Kouyate in a high-stakes featherweight Muay Thai showdown at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
The No. 2-ranked contender is determined to snap his two-fight skid and reassert his position in the title picture.
Jo Nattawut faces no ordinary foe at ONE 170
However, the task at hand is anything but simple. Standing across from Jo Nattawut is Bampara Kouyate, a highly regarded member of Team Mehdi Zatout and one of Europe’s premier strikers.
Kouyate made his ONE debut in October 2023 in a catchweight bout against Shakir Al-Tekreeti, where he displayed flashes of brilliance despite a decision loss. Transitioning to his natural weight class, he bounced back emphatically with a third-round stoppage of Luke Lessei in July 2024
With an opportunity to defeat a seasoned Thai veteran on his home turf, the French dynamo will look to make a strong case for himself as a rising contender in the division.
