WATCH: Thai legend Nong-O Hama activates berserker mode in brutal beatdown of Alaverdi Ramazanov
Former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion Nong-O Hama showed Alaverdi Ramazanov why it's never a good thing to taunt him during their world title matchup in Jan. 2023 at ONE Friday Fights 1. Nong-O, who then held the bantamweight Muay Thai throne, fended off the challenge from Ramazanov in front of his home crowd at the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, with a third-round knockout.
Highlights from the fight were posted by ONE Championship on Instagram. The caption read:
"Don't mess with Nong-O 😤 Will the former ONE Bantamweight Champion hand Kiaman Nabati his first loss at ONE Friday Fights 81? @nongogaiyanghadao"
The video featured the best moments of the 37-year-old Thai icon, where he rained down powerful strikes and accurate combinations against the 'Babyface Killer.'
Nong-O punished the brash approach and showboating of Alaverdi until he got the job done at the 2:14 mark of the third round to retain his throne and remain the unquestioned king of the weight class.
This victory extended the Evolve MMA representative's unbeaten streak in ONE Championship to 10, and he collected his seventh successful world title defense since becoming the inaugural titleholder in the division in Feb. 2019. Nong-O, however, relinquished the gold to Jonathan Haggerty at ONE Fight Night 9.
Nong-O Hama set to face Kiamran Nabati on Sept. 27 at ONE Friday Fights 81
Fresh off his unanimous decision win over fellow Thai star Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai in April 2024 at ONE Friday Fights 58 to snap his two-fight losing streak, Nong-O is now set for his return at ONE Friday Fights 81 on Sept. 27, which will take place inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.
Nong-O is slated to face the unbeaten Russian Kiamran Nabati in a bantamweight Muay Thai fight and hopes to keep his momentum going with a win over the 29-year-old Russian in hopes of inching closer toward another crack for the 26-pound golden belt.
