Sam-A etched his name in ONE history by capturing three inaugural world championships: the ONE flyweight Muay Thai, strawweight kickboxing, and strawweight Muay Thai world championships.

However, the Evolve MMA star shockingly retired in February 2022 after a spectacular six-win tenure, which includes finishes over former ONE strawweight Muay Thai world champion Joseph Lasiri, Surinamese star Sergio Wielzen, and ISKA K-1 world titlist Josh Tonna.

His time away from the circle would only last briefly as he returned in March 2023 at ONE Friday Fights 9, where he knocked out Irish standout Ryan Sheehan.

Sam-A aiming for 374th career win at ONE Friday Fights 81

Sam-A will showcase his world-class striking abilities at ONE Friday Fights 81 on September 27 inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, where he will face Akram Hamidi under strawweight Muay Thai rules.

The 40-year-old Thai great knows that the pressure will be on him entering this fight after Prajanchai PK Saenchai, the last man to have defeated him prior to his February 2022 retirement, knocked him out in June 2023 to win the ONE interim strawweight Muay Thai world championship.

For 'La Pepite', defeating Sam-A at ONE Friday Fights 81 will mark the biggest win of his career yet, plus net him his third victory under the ONE banner.

ONE Friday Fights 81 is available live on pay-per-view at watch.onefc.com.
