WATCH: Thai megastar Tawanchai captures career-defining win in world title triumph over Petchmorakot in Singapore

Before Thai superstar Tawanchai returns to the Circle to defend his ONE featherweight Muay Thai world title, ONE Championship is looking back at how he walked away with the belt courtesy of a lights-out performance against Petchmorakot Petchyindee.

Riding back-to-back wins against Saempetch Fairtex and Niclas Larsen, Tawanchai earned his opportunity against Petchmorakot at ONE 161 in September 2022. There, he put on a dominant five-round showing against the former four-time champion, to pick up his first 26 pounds of ONE gold.

On Friday, June 7, Tawanchai steps back into the iconic Impact Arena in Bangkok for a co-main event clash, putting his belt up for grabs against one of Thailand's most formidable strikers — 'Smokin' Jo Nattawut.

Tawanchai runs it back with Jo Nattawut at ONE 167

Tawanchai and Nattawut are no strangers to one another, having gone the distance in a kickboxing bout at ONE Fight Night 15 in October. On that night, Tawanchai walked away with a unanimous decision victory, though it was no easy t task. Nattawut brought an incredible amount of pressure and gave Tawanchai one of the biggest tests of his career thus far.

As a result, 'Smokin' Jo will have his shot to run it back with Tawanchai. But instead of doing it in eight-ounce gloves, they'll dawn the four-ouncers for a Muay Thai title fight that you won't want to miss.
