WATCH: Thai superstar Superlek lives up to his menacing alter ego in blinding pad session ahead of ONE Friday Fights 68
ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 is set to compete in a flyweight Muay Thai bout in the co-main event of ONE Friday Fights 68 on Friday, June 28, inside the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, and is going all out in his preparations.
Facing a hungry, talented competitor in the form of Kongthoranee Sor Sommai who is bringing with him a seven-fight win streak with two coming by way of knockout, the 29-year-old knows that he cannot get complacent.
Superlek gave fans a look at his training camp via ONE Championship's official Instagram account and showcased why he is 'The Kicking Machine'.
Unbeaten in his last nine fights dating back to his superb unanimous decision win over Taiki Naito in May 2022, Superlek is bringing great momentum with him to his clash with his decorated fellow Thai star.
However, Kongthoranee possesses dangerous knockout power and his drive to beat a world-class opponent might be the difference-maker when they step inside the Circle.
Kongthoranee grateful for chance to fight Superlek
The world of combat sports is often unpredictable, and for Kongthoranee, getting into an all-out war with one of his idols in Superlek is an absolute honor.
Kongthoranee shared his thoughts in an interview with the South China Morning Post:
"I realized that I'm the underdog but I'm very happy to be matched up with him, because I really like him. He's one of my role models, and I think it's a great opportunity to learn from the best and also learn what (I need to) improve on myself."
ONE Friday Fights 68 is available on ONE Championship's digital channels. Fans can also check their local listings to find out how to watch the card from their location.
