WATCH: Two-sport king Jonathan Haggerty shows the perfect head kick to use against a 6-foot-9 mountain of a fighter
Jonathan Haggerty has shown time and time again that he can take down anyone who dares go up against him, and that includes a giant.
Well, sort of a giant.
Before he flew to Thailand to start his training camp for ONE 168: Denver, the reigning ONE bantamweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion had a string of seminars in the United Kingdom.
During his seminar at Supreme Fitness in Dorset, Jonathan Haggerty demonstrated to 6-foot-9 mixed martial artist Damien Carter the proper way of sending a mountain of a man crashing down to earth.
Carter posted on Instagram:
"Shoutout to 'The General' @jhaggerty_ for planting his head kick on 6'9" me! Big respect to the @onechampionship bantamweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion. Was an honour to be a part of this seminar and train with the world's best @supremefitnesscentre."
Haggerty, obviously, didn't go full power in his demonstration, but he did show the subtle trick to bait taller opponents into lowering their guard.
The 5-foot-7 British superstar first baited Carter with a body kick before throwing a high roundhouse kick that softly landed on the big man's jaw.
Haggerty has since set up camp in Koh Samui in Thailand to prepare for one of the biggest fights of his career.
'The General' will defend his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title against ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 in one of the featured bouts at ONE 168: Denver on September 6.
ONE 168: Denver goes down at Ball Arena in Colorado, and tickets for the event are available at Ticketmaster.
Jonathan Haggerty talks about earning Thailand's respect
Jonathan Haggerty has always played the villain whenever he fought Thai fighters in ONE Championship, but he believes that arrangement has slowly taken a turn.
Instead of being a full-blown bad guy in the eyes of Thai fans, Haggerty said he steadily earned the nation's respect whenever he fights in Bangkok.
In an interview with Sky Sports MMA Club, the champ-champ said Thai fans have recognized the hard work he put in and gave him the admiration that was ultimately due.
"I'm not sure if they like me, but they respect me. I mean, doing what I've done, I'm not taking an easy road, I don't take any easy fight, and yeah, they definitely like me. I'm not sure that they like me, but they respect me."
