WATCH: Two-sport king Jonathan Haggerty toughens up his legs with famed coach Christian Knowles ahead of ONE 168
Reigning ONE bantamweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion Jonathan Haggerty is ensuring he is ready for his next fight against ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9.
Haggerty and Superlek will headline the ONE 168: Denver card inside the Ball Arena in Colorado for the former's Muay Thai crown on September 6.
In a recent video posted by ONE Championship on their Instagram account, they shared a glimpse of 'The General's' preparation for the megafight with an intense drill:
"Train the champion way 🔥🏆 Can Jonathan Haggerty hold onto his bantamweight gold when he goes head-to-head with Superlek at ONE 168: Denver? @jhaggerty_"
As seen in the video, Haggerty received solid and powerful leg kicks from his coach, Christian Knowles, who was a former top heavyweight Muay Thai fighter from the UK and now a renowned striking instructor for world champions.
This is the London native's effort to prepare his legs for the inevitable attack from 'The Kicking Machine' on fight night.
Jonathan Haggerty aims to extend his reign as a double champion with a win over Superlek
This will be the second meeting of Haggerty and Superlek, as they already fought outside of ONE Championship. The Thai megastar drew first blood in their head-to-head score with a TKO stoppage win in 2018.
Six years later, Haggerty is seeking revenge for that setback and aims to extend his reign as a double world champion.
Prior to his next world title defense, the British combat sports superstar showed incredible grit and heart against Felipe Lobo in February 2024 at ONE Fight Night 19 to retain the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title in front of the Lumpinee Stadium crowd in Bangkok, Thailand.
ONE 168: Denver will transpire from the Ball Arena in U.S. primetime on Sept. 6. Tickets for the event are available on Ticketmaster.
