WATCH: Tye Ruotolo gauds Thai legend Sam-A to teach twin brother Kade Ruotolo his way of hitting the pads
Current ONE welterweight submission grappling world champion tried to seek the advice of striking legend and former multiple-time world champion Sam-A Gaiyanghadao for his twin brother, Kade, on how to land the perfect kick.
This moment occurred last Friday night at the backstage of ONE 169, which took place inside the packed Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, where both Sam-A and Kade were warming up for their respective matches.
The world's largest martial arts organization has published the short clip on Instagram recently, and captioned it with:
"Learning from the best 😅 Should Tye Ruotolo follow in his brother's footsteps and transition to MMA? @ruotolobrothersjiutjitsu @aaa_gaiyanghadao"
In the video, Kade was seen hitting the pads with a booming kick before Tye approached Sam-A and told him to demonstrate his technique. This cracked a smile on the Evolve MMA representative's face and lit up the mood of everyone inside the room.
Both Kade and Sam-A won their respective matches during the event, with the former submitting Ahmed Mujtaba in their lightweight MMA fight and the latter unanimously beating Zhang Peimian in their strawweight kickboxing scrap.
Kade Ruotolo claims that he and twin brother Tye are wired in to always get the finish out of their opponents
Right after his incredible performance that earned him the additional $50,000 bonus from ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong, the 21-year-old phenom revealed that his mentality, along with his brother Tye, is always trying to get the job done in the first round of their fights.
The Atos representative stated this during his in-ring post-fight interview with 'The Dragon' Mitch Chilson, as he claimed:
"My brother and I, in the most humble way possible, we always say this - we're some of the most mentally strong guys, so no matter who you guys put in front of me, I'm calling it, I'm gonna get the finish, trying to keep it in the first round as well."
