WATCH: UFC champion Alex Pereira eats a scorpion
Alex Pereira is currently in Thailand, training for his upcoming title clash against Israel Adesanya. 'Poatan' recently visited the Khao San Road in Bangkok, which is known for its exotic delicacies, some of which are only meant for the brave-hearted.
The UFC middleweight champion seemed more than comfortable munching on a skewered scorpion from a street vendor. Pereira posted the clip on his Instagram Stories, which also went on to show several other exotic foods made of crocodiles, bugs, worms, and even cockroaches.

Alex Pereira's BJJ coach Plinio Cruz could also be seen in the video enjoying a skewered scorpion. Cruz's own Instagram stories also recorded a prior visit to the Vaso - Spanish Tapas Bar in Bangkok.
Pereira is scheduled to face Israel Adesanya for the fourth time at UFC 287 on April 4. The Brazilian defeated 'The Last Stylebender' twice in kickboxing before taking his middleweight title via a fifth-round KO at UFC 281 last year.

Israel Adesanya is more focused on beating Alex Pereira than winning the belt
Alex Pereira was three fights old in the UFC with a total of seven pro-MMA outings under his belt when he earned a middleweight title shot against Israel Adesanya based on their kickboxing history.
Going in as a favorite, Adesanya justified the odds early on by almost knocking out 'Poatan' at the end of round one. 'The Last Stylebender' went on to emphatically outclass Pereira as the fight progressed and was cruising to a decisive victory before the Brazilian shockingly TKO'd him in the final minute.
Adesanya now claims to be solely focused on defeating Pereira in their rematch at UFC 287. A win over his Kryptonite seemingly matters more to the former champion than reclaiming his title. 'The Last Stylebender' said during a UFC 284 presser:
“Ive never not been motivated to fight this guy, but for this one I’ve put the pressure on myself. Like, f**k the belt, f**k everything else. I have to beat this guy, so that’s my motivation, just beating him. Like I said, they can say whatever they want, it’s 1-0 or 3-0, I don’t keep score, I settle them and I just need one and I’m going to get it done.”
