"We have to do another rematch" - Alexis Nicolas believes Regian Eersel trilogy is a must if he loses his gold at ONE Fight Night 25

Alexis Nicolas admits a rubber match against Regian Eersel will be an absolute necessity if he fails to pass their rematch with flying colors at ONE Fight Night 25.

The stand-up specialists run it back for the ONE lightweight kickboxing world title inside Bangkok's revered Lumpinee Stadium this Friday, October 4. Unlike their first encounter, 'Barboza' will have his target on his back as 'The Immortal' seeks to exact revenge and regain two-sport glory in Thailand.

Knowing that his dance partner will bring his best version, any mistake could abruptly cut his reign short. And if that becomes the case, the Mahmoudi Gym warrior (24-0) revealed he'll want nothing more than an opportunity to flip the script again.

In an exclusive pre-fight interview with ONE Championship, Alexis Nicolas shared:

"If I win, it's good. If I lose, it's 1-1, and we have to do another rematch."

Alexis Nicolas not short of confidence heading into Regian Eersel redo

Despite addressing the possibility of staring at defeat, the ONE lightweight kickboxing world champion is by no means short of confidence as he aims to ace his first test as a divisional king.

Alexis Nicolas, in the same interview, continued:

"But I will win this fight because I trust in myself. I know the game plan will be different."

If their first fight is anything to go by, fans are in for another action-packed war. Both warriors participated in an all-out striking clinic in the main event of ONE Fight Night 21 this past April.

While many had Eersel as a favorite to defend his crown, Nicolas stayed at his sparkling best to claim a well-deserved win over 'The Immortal' and secure his spot atop the lightweight kickboxing division.

The pair renew their rivalry in the main event of ONE Fight Night 25, available to North American fans with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription live in U.S. primetime for free this Friday, October 4.
