“We had our beef"- Former UFC fighter who once brawled with Nick Diaz speaks out on his struggles and extends helping hand in emotional appeal

Former UFC fighter Jason Miller, who once engaged in a brawl with Nick Diaz, has offered the Stockton native help. It comes on the back of reports claiming Diaz is struggling with a substance addiction.

Back in 2010 and during their time in Strikeforce, Miller and Diaz were involved in an altercation inside the octagon. Jake Shields had defeated Dan Henderson, which prompted Miller to storm into the cage to demand a bout against Shields.

Diaz and his brother Nate took issue with Miller's actions, resulting in a brawl that ended up costing everyone involved hefty fines and suspensions.

Without it ever being clear if the pair buried the hatchet, now, years later, it appears as though 'Mayhem' is willing to put to bed any bad blood in order to help out a fellow fighter.

Last month, Nick Diaz's girlfriend shared a story on her Instagram that appeared to suggest the former UFC star is struggling with a drug addiction. Her post also followed the news that Diaz had pulled out from his scheduled bout against Vicent Luque. A video has also been doing the rounds on social media which allegedly shows Diaz intoxicated in public.

Speaking in a recent interview with Helen Yee, Jason Miller discussed the situation, where he offered Diaz his support and a helping hand, should he need it. He said:

"We all saw what we saw, and I won’t dwell on it too bad, but I think that people in Nick’s life need to gather around...Anybody that’s ever made some money off of him needs to come circle around and help this guy out. We had our beef, whatever, since we were kids but that doesn’t stop me from extending a helping hand to this guy if he needs it.”

Nick Diaz's coach addresses former fighter's recent struggles

Cesar Gracie, the longtime coach of Nick Diaz, recently offered his take on the worrying situation regarding the former fighter.

The MMA community has been worried about Diaz over recent weeks, after a series of seemingly erratic behavior has been making headlines. It also follows the news Diaz has pulled out of his bout against Vicent Luque, with the UFC refusing to clarify a reason as to why.

Gracie recently spoke to LEGACY TV, where he opened up about Diaz and his issues. According to the award-winning coach, some of Diaz's problems started earlier on in his career when he would drink alcohol with Ronda Rousey. He explained:

"I think Ronda Rousey got him drinking cause she would come up before she was famous and hang out...it wasn't her fault but [Diaz]...could not drink, he can't do things like that and that set him on a different path."
