"We both come for the knockout" - Jonathan Haggerty on why his mega clash with Superlek will be must-see TV

Jonathan Haggerty guarantees that his mega clash with Superlek will be an action-packed show riddled with violence from start to end. The defending ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion is just one week away from locking horns with one of the best strikers on the planet, ONE flyweight kickboxing kingpin Superlek Kiatmoo9, on Sept. 6 at ONE 168: Denver.

Although they both come from different Muay Thai backgrounds, Haggerty believes their warrior spirit and never-say-die-attitude make them similar.

Speaking to ONE, 'The General' said:

"I feel our styles are the same. We're both aggressive. We both come for the knockout. I'd say we're both up there as pound-for-pound bests."

Indeed, both combatants have defeated some of the biggest stars to establish themselves as the No. 1 strikers in their division.

Haggerty for his part, has drastically exceeded expectations after moving up to bantamweight in 2022. His last three victories have come by way of brutal knockouts, including his massive upset victory over Nong-O Hama for the 145-pound belt at ONE Fight Night 9.

On the other hand, Superlek has also been unstoppable. His striking volume and Muay Mat fighting style have made him one of the most exciting fighters to watch within the last few years. After moving to a higher weight class, Superlek is expected to showcase more of his lethal power inside the ring.

Tickets for ONE 168: Denver are available via Ticketmaster.
