"We all know who Rodtang is" - Lito Adiwang expects another trademark performance from Rodtang in ONE 169 return
Lito Adiwang is looking forward to watching one of the biggest stars in all of combat sports do what he does best in just several weeks time.
The strawweight MMA contender is a big fan of one fighter that through his star status has brought a lot of eyes to Muay Thai.
Thai icon Rodtang Jitmuangnon may be best known for his exciting fighting style that never fails to turn heads but he can back it up with high level performances.
His reign as the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion has seen him transcend Muay Thai as a global hit among martial arts fans.
And he'll have another chance to do so when he returns to the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Nov. 8 for the next defense of his flyweight crown.
On one of the biggest cards of the year, Rodtang will face Jacob Smith in a rematch that is sure to be a true battle of wills between the two durable competitors.
In an interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Lito Adiwang spoke about his own anticipation for the fight where he expects the champion to get his hand raised:
"80 percent excited, because we've seen this before. If this was going to be their first encounter, maybe I'd get a little more excited because I want to find out what happens. But we all know who Rodtang is."
Lito Adiwang is judging from past experience
It's understandable that Lito Adiwang would take the first fight between Rodtang and Jacob Smith into account when previewing the rematch.
Their first encounter only took place in 2022 but it's up to Smith to show how far he has come in the past two and a bit years.
He has had no problem admitting that the first fight was somewhat overwhelming at the time, but with confidence in his skills, the Brit believes that he can change the outcome.
We will find out when he goes head-to-head with Rodtang for a second time at ONE 169.
