"We literally just crawled into hell" - Jon Jones recounts chilling encounter with 'scary Satanic symbols' on cave expedition
As Jon Jones gears up for his long-awaited octagon return at UFC 309, he took part in a recent sitdown with Ketone-IQ on episode one of Fast Ones. During the interview, Jones touched on an old cave expedition which saw him encounter what he believes were Satanic symbols.
Given his Christian beliefs, it was a harrowing experience for 'Bones,' who detailed it while running on a treadmill with the interviewer, answering various questions. According to Jones, the expedition was not his idea originally. Instead, it was his friends, who had invited him out.
"This is a few years ago. One of my friends convinced me to do some cave exploring with him. Pretty scary experience. The deeper we got, I remember seeing all these really scary Satanic symbols. I was like, 'What the? We literally just crawled into hell.'"

Given that Jones is a devout Christian, the symbols seem to have been the most memorable aspect of his cave expedition. For now though, the all-time great mixed martial artist's cave expedition days have taken a backseat to his rigorous preparation for UFC 309, where he defends his heavyweight title for the first time.
Jones' challenger is none other than the division's former champion and one of the greatest heavyweights of all time in Stipe Miocic. The matchup has drawn tremendous criticism from fans due to Tom Aspinall being more deserving, as he is the interim heavyweight champion on a hot finishing streak.
Jones, however, has shown little concern for how the fans have perceived his disinterest in fighting Aspinall.
Jon Jones has numerous outdoor interests
Besides cave exploring, Jon Jones is known for having several other hobbies that involve him being outdoors. He appears to frequently visit desert shooting range, where he sharpens his marksmanship skills. Furthermore, he is also an avid archer, occasionally using it as a substitute for his firearms.
Given how often he has teased retirement after UFC 309, he will have more time to pursue his non-MMA interests once he lays down the gloves and rides off into the sunset.
