"We'll know how to approach it better" - Lito Adiwang confident he can handle Jarred Brooks' pressure in a possible rematch

ONE strawweight MMA contender Lito Adiwang believes he will share the circle with Jarred Brooks once again in the foreseeable future. If the opportunity presents itself once more, 'Thunder Kid' assures he learned from his mistakes and fare much better against the former 125-pound MMA kingpin.

Speaking in a Sportskeeda MMA exclusive, Adiwang confidently claimed he now knows how to weather the torrent storm that Brooks brings if they clash again in a potential rematch.

The Filipino firecracker shared:

"It's not that scary, but he will catch you off guard. Now that I'm trying to catch up, I can now understand the technique. I think the second time around we'll know how to approach it better."

After an impressive 6-1 start in ONE, Adiwang was on the cusp of contender status back in 2021. However, the debuting Jarred Brooks halted his momentum when they crossed paths at ONE: Next Gen III.

The American had his way with the Adiwang on the ground, violently throwing him around and blasting him with unforgiving ground and pound.

The pressure was just too much for the Wushu specialist, who eventually yielded via an arm-triangle choke in the second round.

Meanwhile, Adiwang has won his last three contests and could set up a re-do with Brooks if he can break into the strawweight top five.

Lito Adiwang says Jarred Brooks breaks his opponents with crushing pace

In the same interview, Adiwang admitted Jarred Brooks' insane pressure can be quite overwhelming, even for the best fighters in the division.

'Thunder Kid' said:

"That [pace] is really his main strength. It's not that it's scary per se, but it's really dangerous if you don't know how to handle that pressure."

Brooks will once again depend on his signature frantic pace when he takes on Gustavo Balart for the interim strawweight MMA gold in the curtain closer of ONE Fight Night 24.

The full event will emanate from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand on August 2, live in US primetime. ONE Fight Night 24 is free for Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
