Kevin Lee explains now-deleted tweet regarding pay directed at Eagle FC owner Khabib Nurmagomedov
Kevin Lee is walking back on his original stance of airing out his grievances with Khabib Nurmagomedov via social media and choosing a different approach.
Kevin Lee joined James Lynch for an interview on Middle Easy's YouTube channel, where explained the now-deleted tweet directed at the Eagle FC owner regarding his pay in the promotion. He mentioned that he feels the two need to sit down and talk things out:
"Me and Khabib (Nurmagomedov) need to talk. We need to have a conversation. We need to really sit down as men and talk. I do feel like he still maybe hold a grudge or got something going on against me."
'The Motown Phenom' added that he understands that 'The Eagle' and his team are coming off Islam Makhachev's UFC lightweight title win. However, he believes that they eventually need to talk:
"I'm giving them the time and space that they need to kind of celebrate it, go on to the next one. They got a big fight coming up to see if he's gonna be pound-for-pound number-one...all that good s***. I'm not not a team player, so we'll need to have a talk but it will come in do time."
Lee noted that he is back to one-hundred percent after sustaining a knee injury during his fight with Diego Sanchez at Eagle FC 46. He defeated the former TUF winner via unanimous decision in his promotional debut. The win snapped his two-fight losing skid and improved his MMA record to 19-7.

Kevin Lee is disappointed with fighters on the regional circuit
Kevin Lee expressed his disappointment with fighters competing on the regional circuit.
During his interview with James Lynch, he mentioned that he was upset that nobody is calling him out for a fight, especially considering the wealth of experience he has competing in the UFC:
"Outside of the UFC, I'm the one with the most experience between (1)55-er or (1)70-pounder. There's nobody out here that has fought as many world champions as me. I would've expected that more guys would've been calling me out and asking to fight somebody like me."
'The Motown Phenom' would like to return to the cage whether it's in Eagle FC or elsewhere and even stated that Nate Diaz would be an appealing opponent.
